Austrian and Czech passport holders are now eligible to apply for a Work and Holiday (subclass 462) visa in Australia.

As part of the Working Holiday Maker program, the visa allows applicants to undertake paid employment in Australia while on holidays.

A Subclass 462 visa allows the visa holder to:

  • study for up to four months;

  • leave and re-enter Australia any number of times while the visa is valid;

  • apply for a second Work and Holiday visa if they have worked for three months in northern Australia in tourism and hospitality, agriculture, or forestry and fishing.

Applicants must be over 18 and under the age of 31 at the time of application. Both Austrian and Czech applicants must hold tertiary qualifications or has successfully completed at least two years of undergraduate university study.
