2026–27 Program Update • 26 October 2026
Living and working in South Australia with a visa expiring soon?
South Australia is accepting Registrations of Interest (ROIs) from people living and working in the state whose current visas expire on or before 31 January 2027.
Who can submit an ROI now?
South Australia has announced that they are accepting Registration of Interests (ROI) from people who both live and work in South Australia and hold a current visa due to expire by 31 January 2027. In addition to the visa expiry, applicants must also meet the relevant 2026–27 stream and occupation requirements.
Offshore Applicants
If you are overseas, you do not need to lodge an ROI. Suitable candidates may be invited directly from their Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect.
Six sectors are in focus
Invitations will focus on suitable onshore and offshore candidates working in building and construction, defence, education, engineering, health and manufacturing. High-ranking candidates in other sectors may also be considered.
What state nomination can support
South Australia offers nomination for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190), a permanent visa, and the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491), a provisional visa. Availability varies by occupation and stream. Applicants must meet both South Australia’s nomination requirements and the Department of Home Affairs visa criteria.
