General Skilled Migration to Australia

Our agents are specialised in 489 and 189/190 Visas

Should you go with the 489 visa, or the 189/190? Or perhaps there is another migration avenue altogether which best suits your needs. The general skilled migration visas are a great avenue for skilled workers to migrate to Australia, or to prolong their stay for a few years, but can be a time-consuming and stressful endeavour. If you believe you may be eligible for either the 489 or 189/190 visas, it is a great start to consult with a registered migration agent to decide on the best course forward.

SCA Connect will assign you with a dedicated agent that will stay with you throughout the visa process to ensure the best outcome, and your peace of mind. Don’t let guesswork stand in the way of a successful process, let us help you succeed.

How do the 489 and 189/190 visas work?

The skilled migration program is a points system which enables applicants to migrate to Australia.

SkillSelect was introduced in July 2012. It is an online system that enables skilled workers, with an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list, to record their details to be considered for a skilled visa through an Expression of Interest (EOI).

The EOI application will gather information regarding your age, English language ability, qualifications and skilled experience.  Applicants are assessed on their skills and attributes and will be allocated a score on the points test. The system will then rank the applicant’s score. Applicants must meet the minimum threshold pass mark to proceed.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) will invite applicants with the highest ranking scores for the required occupations to make a visa application. Therefore we encourage applicants to maximise their points wherever possible.

Applicants may also be eligible for nomination by an Australian State or Territory government.

SCA Connect helps people across Australia’s biggest cities, including: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. We help employers and individuals alike, with advice based on the most current of legislation.
