Subclass 189 Visa – Points-tested stream
The skilled independent visa is a points-based visa that allows skilled workers not sponsored by an employer or family member or nominated by a state or territory government to obtain permanent residency.
Applicants must:

Meet English language requirements

Subclass 190 Visa
The skilled nominated visa is points-based, also requiring state or territory government nomination. It allows skilled workers to obtain permanent residency.

The Subclass 491 visa is a temporary visa for skilled workers nominated by a state or territory government to live and work in regional Australia. The visa provides a pathway to permanent residency if specific requirements are met.
