2024-2025 NSW Skilled Migration Program
The NSW Skilled Migration Program is now open, designed to align with the NSW Government's efforts to tackle skill shortages across the state. The latest skilled occupation lists have been published.
Priority Sectors in NSW Include:
Construction (infrastructure and housing)
Renewables (net-zero and clean energy)
Care Economy (aged care, disability services, and early childhood education)
Digital and Cyber (across all sectors)
Education(teachers)
Agriculture and Agrifood
Advanced Manufacturing
Invitation Rounds
Invitation rounds for NSW nomination under the Subclass 190 visa will commence shortly and will take place regularly until the allocation is filled.
To be considered for NSW nomination, you must meet the following basic criteria:
Visa eligibility: Ensure you meet all visa requirements outlined by Home Affairs for this visa.
Skills assessment: Have a valid skills assessment for an occupation that is both:
listed on the eligible skilled occupation list for this visa; and
falls within an ANZSCO unit group identified on the NSW Skills List
Residency: Ensure you are either currently residing:
in NSW and have continuously resided in NSW for a minimum period of six months; or
offshore and have continuously resided offshore for a minimum period of six months.
Meeting the above basic criteria is no guarantee an invitation to lodge a State Sponsorship will be received. State nomination is highly competitive.
The Subclass 491 Nomination will consist of three pathways. Pathway 1 and 3 will open soon.

Pathway 1 – Apply if you’re currently employed with a regional NSW employer.
Pathway 2 – Be invited to apply by Investment NSW.
Pathway 3 – Apply if you recently graduated from a Regional NSW institution.
