Exciting Changes from 1 July 2025: What New Income Thresholds Mean for Skilled Visas
If you're planning to work in Australia or bring skilled talent into your organisation the landscape has shifted. As of 1 July 2025, the Department of Home Affairs has updated the income thresholds to reflect current wage conditions.
Why This Matters
Whether you're a highly skilled professional dreaming of a new life in Australia, or an employer seeking global talent to grow your business, income thresholds are very important. This update may affect your visa pathway, your job offer, or your hiring strategy. Understanding it now could be the difference between a successful application and a missed opportunity.
Key Terms You Need to Know
Income Threshold This is the minimum annual salary that must be offered to a skilled visa applicant for their nomination to be valid. It ensures that overseas workers are employed in genuinely skilled, fairly paid roles.
