Migration Queensland opened its 2025–2026 nomination program on 19 September 2025.
Some key factors of their nomination program include:
Occupation Lists
Migration Queensland has released revised occupation lists for the new skilled migration program year.
Pathways
A new onshore pathway has been created for the Building and Construction workforce. The Offshore Energy Workers pathway has been removed from the program.
The subclass 491 Small Business Owners program closed on 19 September 2025. Businesses purchased or commenced after this date are not eligible to apply. However, those purchased or commenced before 19 September 2025 may still be invited to apply.
