South Australia State Nomination Update: February 2026 Invitations Focus on Health, Engineering, and ICT

South Australia conducted a state nomination invitation round in February 2026, issuing a total of 364 invitations across the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (subclass 491) visa categories.

 

In the latest round, 227 invitations were issued for subclass 190 and 137 invitations for subclass 491.

 

The round continued to prioritise health, engineering, ICT, and education sectors, which remain high-demand fields across the state.

 

Program Year-to-Date Overview (2025–26)

 

As of February 2026, South Australia has issued:

 

  • 837 nominations under subclass 190, supporting permanent migration.

  • 458 nominations under subclass 491, promoting skilled settlement in regional South Australia.


The cumulative figures show that health and engineering occupations continue to lead total invitations, together accounting for nearly 40% of all nominations to date. ICT professionals also remain a consistent focus, with 129 invitations issued since July 2025.
