Western Australia increases skilled worker migration options
Skilled workers looking to migrate to Australia may benefit from considering Western Australia for possible state nomination after the WA government made changes to its migration program, supporting industry demand and making it easier for skilled workers to migrate to Western Australia.
As of 1 July 2022, the following temporary measures have been introduced:
$200 application fee waived
60% increase in the number of occupations eligible for WA state nomination
Removal of requirement to demonstrate sufficient funds
Reduction in the level of required English competency for the Manager and Professional occupation level
Changes to some document requirements based on the visa you are nominated for
The next round of invitations to apply for WA state nomination is expected to be issued in the third week of September 2022.
If your occupation is listed on the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) or Graduate Occupation List (GOL), you may be eligible for WA state nomination for a Subclass 190 Skilled Nomination Visa or Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa.
