Working Holiday Visa




The Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417) allows the visa holder to holiday in Australia and undertake some work to fund their trip.


The visa allows you to:


- study up to 4 months

- undertake short-term work in Australia

- travel to and from Australia multiple times within the validity of the visa

- complete 3 months of specified work to become eligible for a second working holiday visa.


A Working Holiday visa holder must enter Australia within 12 months of visa grant. The visa will then be valid for 12 months from the date of entry.


Passport holders from the following countries can participate in the Working Holiday Visa Program.


You must be a citizen of and hold a valid passport from one of these countries/jurisdictions:


Belgium, Canada, Republic of Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China (including British National Overseas passport holders), Republic of Ireland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport), The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Netherlands - 18 to 30 years

Norway - 18 to 30 years

Sweden - 18 to 30 years

Taiwan (other than an official or diplomatic passport) - 18 to 30 years

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 18 to 30 years
