Partner Visa (onshore) (Subclass 820/801)
The Partner visa (subclass 820/801) is for the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen, applying from within Australia. It's a two-stage decision process: the 820 grants temporary status, and the 801 grants permanent residence. You lodge and pay for both stages together.
