Good News for Chinese Tourists

Chinese tourists are significant contributors to the Australian economy. More than a million Chinese tourists visited Australia in 2015 and contributed more than A$8.3 billion to the Australian economy. To further boost this number, the Australian government has announced that it will trial a new 10 year multiple entry Visitor visa for Chinese visitors.

This visa will cost $1000 and will allow Chinese visitors to stay in Australia for up to 3 months each visit.

The trial will commence on 19 November 2016. This visa option may be opened up to citizens from other countries in the future but will initially only be for Chinese passport holders.
